Salma’s fans joined her in the tributes, with one commenting: “I don’t think I would have grown an appreciation for Mexican music without my grandfather playing this man’s music. Now he can sing to my grandfather in heaven.”
“No one will reach or compare to him,” wrote another as one shared: “Long live Vicente.”
Salma paid tribute to the “King”
Salma is proud of her Mexican heritage but is raising her daughter Valentina, 14, around the globe as she travels with her mom for movie shoots. They spent most of 2020 and 2021 in the UK and Italy where Salma filmed Marvel’s Eternals and House of Gucci.
However, the mom-of-one recently revealed that her UK home is haunted – and Valentina has seen the ghosts.
“Lights go on and off, or the doors and windows open and close. I’ve seen some of it,” she said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, revealing that her husband thinks it’s “nonsense” so they brought someone in to perform an exorcism.

“Oh my goodness, so he came and my house manager, who didn’t believe in it, started getting really nervous about it and freaking out about it,” Salma revealed.
“And finally, I brought [in] the guy. They were afraid of the guy, he was so amazing and funny. I said, ‘No chicken heads, no chicken legs, don’t bring dead animals to my house.’
“He said, ‘No, no, I’m going to smoke this, whatever.’ He starts going through the room, ‘there’s an old lady here, and a child’ and this and that, and everyone is freaking out even more, it was worse, he found like 20 [ghosts] and the worst part is that at one point [Valentina] says – because this one was close to her room – ‘Ok, but she is gone, right?’ He goes, ‘no’. ‘What do you mean no?’ ‘She’s a nun!'”
