On Sunday, the Princess of Wales headed from the Royal Box to Centre Court to hand out the trophies after the men’s final patron as part of her role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

The wife of Prince William, Kate Middleton, is catching backlash online after viewers noticed that she snubbed a kid while giving out handshakes at Wimbledon. Kate ignored one of the young ball boys as she made her way by a line of them while she was walking out to the court.

The princess had stopped to briefly chat with some of the youngsters and even shook some of their hands, but the first boy waiting in line wasn’t treated to any of that special treatment, leading some fans to say he was “snubbed.”

Kate watched the Wimbledon finals along with her kids. She witnessed 20-year-old Alcaraz spectacularly prevent his legendary rival from winning his fifth successive Wimbledon title.

Carlos Alcaraz won the men’s singles final at Wimbledon on Sunday, defeating legendary champion Novak Djokovic. At 20 years, 72 days old, Alcaraz became the third-youngest men’s winner at Wimbledon in the Open era.

“I fought until the last ball, every ball,” Alcaraz said in his post-match press conference. “We made great rallies, great points. It was a long match, long sets and it was the mental part that allowed me to stay there during the five sets. To stay good physically and mentally for five hours against a legend, making history like I did today, it’s the happiest moment of my life. I don’t think that’s going to change for a long time.”

The win was Alcaraz’s second career grand slam title, having won the US Open just last year. Djokovic was unable to take part in that tournament because he was not allowed entry into the United States due to his vaccination status.
