The answer to what is wrong with Justin Fields is simple and not too promising for the Chicago Bears. Everything and everyone around him is bad and it is stopping his progress as a QB.

It’s no real secret that the Chicago Bears have had a pretty brutal start to the year, opening their 2023 slate with three consecutive losses which continues a losing streak from last year. The team has also lost their defensive coordinator amid reports the FBI raided his home which has not been confirmed.

Star quarterback Justin Fields has certainly played a big part in those struggles and it looks like the team is willing to take drastic measures toward the young QB.

A rumor this week reveals that the organization would bench Justin Fields if he struggles against the Denver Broncos, who are coming off a game where they allowed over 700 yards of offense and 70 points.

“Absolutely. If he struggles against a team that just had 70 points scored against them Eberflus will 100% consider it. Eberflus knows he’s on a thin leash and his only hope could be for Tyson Bagent to show some magic.”

Ahead of the week three showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs, Fields claimed that he had been feeling “robotic” in his game this season, leading to struggles on the field, partially blaming the coaching for those issues.

Fields followed up that quote by throwing for 99 yards on 11-for-22 passing in a 41-10 loss to the Chiefs. He had a 12.5 passer rating at halftime and finished at 58.7.

We’ll have to see if Fields and the Bears can bounce back this week with a game against the Denver Broncos, who are also 0-3 to start the season.
