ESPN has announced its capture of an incredible social media milestone.

In a press release published on Wednesday, The Worldwide Leader in Sports revealed it’s now the most followed account on TikTok, having accrued 41 million viewers to unseat French soccer club Paris Saint-Germain’s account as the most followed.

That is apart from TikTok itself as the platform has over 75 million followers on its own account.

TikTok does not have official charts or rankings when it comes to follower stats. But Kylian Mbappe’s team was the No. 1 in such regard before the American media company got to 41 mil.

PSG’s following has likely slowed down over the past few months as both Lionel Messi and Neymar made their exits earlier this year. Mbappe attempted to force a move away himself but eventually agreed to stick around.

“It’s exciting to see how we’ve been able to successfully connect with the next generation of sports fans,” ESPN social media strategist Omar Raja declared. “This milestone represents a longstanding goal we set four years ago, and we’re only going up from here.”

Surprisingly enough, ESPN’s most-viewed TikTok content aren’t sports highlights or clips from their shows, but rather lifestyle bits, workout memes, and other clips on various internet trends.

ESPN has also been streaming ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ live on the platform, which has been massive.
