BREAKING: Washington Commanders Have Officially Found Their New Head Coach After Long Search
The Washington Commanders have brought an end to the NFL’s hiring cycle as it pertains to head coaches as they’re now set to appoint Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn as their new head coach.
Quinn is finally getting another opportunity to be an HC, having served in the role with the Atlanta Falcons from 2015 to 2020. He held interviews with various teams over the past three years following his work in Dallas and is now set to be the main man again after multiple meetings with Washington.
While he was expected to take over in Seattle, the Seahawks opted to go with Mike McDonald. And, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Commanders are now set to make him their new head coach.
Quinn is also expected to bring Cowboys secondary coach and passing game coordinator Joe Whitt to serve as his defensive coordinator in Washington.
The Commanders, under a new regime with Dan Snyder having exited in 2023, are looking to usher in a new era. They’ve now replaced Ron Rivera with one of the most accomplished coordinators in the league and will hope for immediate success under their new man.
