It’s finally happening: Michael Chandler vs. Conor McGregor! Dana White’s massive payday is right around the corner.

Chandler, 37, spoke with Babcock on “TMZ Sports” (which airs weekdays on FS1), a few days after The Notorious informed reporters he would fight Iron Mike this summer. TMZ Sports questioned Chandler if McGregor was telling the truth or if he was simply blowing smoke.

“I’ve got the official announcement. It’s happening this summer,” Chandler added, “I can’t tell you the actual date, but it’s happening this summer!”.

The confrontation between Michael and Conor has long been planned; it began in the middle of 2023 when the two were the opposing coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter.”

Michael Chandler vs Conor McGregor UFC Fight Resurfaces

In the middle of a furious outburst over his inability to get a fight, Conor McGregor announced that his much-awaited matchup with Michael Chandler is official. In early 2024, McGregor made the original announcement that he and Chandler would square off in a Middleweight match on June 29 during International Fight Week.

Conor McGregor, who is regarded as the UFC’s face, is the most popular and highest-paid fighter in the history of the promotion. He last competed in a trilogy match at UFC 264 against longtime adversary Dustin Poirier, although he hasn’t competed in almost three years.

After McGregor suffered a broken leg, the bout was stopped by a doctor, and Poirier was pronounced the winner. Although McGregor was once scheduled to return to the UFC by the end of 2022, the excitement around his homecoming persisted into 2023 even though he did not enter the cage again.

McGregor declared this year that he will fight more than once when he returns to the UFC, no matter what. He is reportedly going to take on Michael Chandler, who has been criticizing the Notorious One for nearly two years. When McGregor returns to the UFC, he has stated that he will take on Chandler this summer.
