The Featherweight division of the UFC got a new king earlier this year. Ilia Topuria finished Alexander Volkanovski in the second round of their fight via a viscous boxing combination. Topuria will be defending his title in the cage in near future. Recently, former champion and rival Alexander Volkanovski made a massive revelation about the Georgian in an interview.

Ilia Topuria is one of the few fighters in the promotion who boasts an unbeaten record in the octagon. But as it turns out, according to Volkanovski, the portion is not impressed with the Featherweight king.

“Cmon mate, f***ing stay in your lane”

The UFC is yet to announce Ilia’s first title defense in the cage. He has called out several Featherweight stars like Max Holloway and Irish superstar Conor McGregor. But the Australian great Volkanovski gave his take on the champion. Alex said,

[Topuria] doesn’t want to fight any of the top guys… what he’s doing… I guarantee you the UFC aren’t happy with it. Especially him saying he doesn’t want to fight anyone but Conor McGregor. Cmon mate, f***ing stay in your lane.

Volkanovski is convinced that the UFC promotion is not ecstatic with the Georgian great. He claims that Ilia has no plans of fighting any top guys on the Featherweight roster, and the UFC will not be happy with him saying that he will only fight Conor McGregor in the octagon.

Meanwhile, Featherweight veteran Brian Ortega revealed that Ilia will take on Max Holloway in the upcoming months. The MMA fans would love to witness a scrap between the Featherweight champion of the world versus the BMF champion. Ilia’s next title fight is yet to be announced, and it will be interesting to see who Topuria will take on for his first title defense.
