Deion & Shedeur Sanders Are Getting Blasted For Late Game Antics Against North Dakota State
On Thursday, the Colorado Buffaloes opened their season with a 31 -26 win over North Dakota State. However, both Deion and Shedeur Sanders are catching heat over what Shedeur did at the end of the game.
All Colorado had to do to finish the game was run out the clock, but instead, they threw the ball on first down, which ended up incomplete, and stopped the clock. That allowed NDSU to take over with about 30 seconds left in the game and run a potentially game-winning drive.
Of course, they would come up about three yards short, and Colorado secured the win. After the game, Deion was questioned about the decision to throw, and he said it was because “Shedeur is such a good kid,” and he wanted wide receiver LaJohntay Wester to have a big play.
Of course, though, nobody on social media agreed that Shedeur should have done that with the game on the line.
“Trying to run up the score against NDSU to make your self look better is just sad,” one comment said.
“Na that was almost an all time bad beat. NDSU caught that jail mary. If the QB had a little more arm it woulda been an L,” another said.
“Such a good kid” if he threw a pick they easily would’ve lost that game. Got so lucky the final play wasn’t 4 yards further, would’ve been game,” added a third.
Of course, though, the pass ultimately had no effect on the final score of the game.
Shedeur Sanders Had A Great Stat Line In Home Opener Against NDSU
Despite the drama following the game, Shedeur had a very good stat line to open the season.
He completed 26 of 34 passes for 445 yards, four touchdowns, and just one interception, which bounced off a defender’s legs and into another’s hands.
More performances like this could legitimately put him in the Heisman conversation.
