UFC Vegas 95: Three Fighters, Including Serghei Spivac, Secure $50K Bonuses
Fans had high expectations, but UFC Vegas 95 fell short on Saturday, delivering less action than anticipated. Out of 10 fights, only three ended in finishes, with no knockouts. In the main event, Serghei Spivac claimed victory over Marcin Tybura with a first-round armbar choke, avenging his 2020 loss to Tybura.
Spivac not only won but also earned a $50K bonus, boosting his earnings for the event. In the prelims, Toshiomi Kazama defeated Charalampos Grigoriou by submission (triangle choke) at 1:55 of Round 2, making him the second fighter to secure a bonus.
Another preliminary fighter, Youssef Zalal, also earned a $50K bonus by defeating Jarno Errens with a rear-naked choke at 3:52 of Round 1. These bonuses are crucial, allowing fighters to increase their earnings from a single fight.
However, UFC Vegas 95 certainly was a disappointment, offering less action than fans had hoped for. Fans always look forward to thrilling knockouts and submissions, which were scarce this time. With this Fight Night behind us, the UFC is set to head to Australia for UFC 305, a highly anticipated PPV event.
After UFC Vegas 95, Dana White’s Promotion Will Host UFC 305
Dricus Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya are set to face off at Perth’s RAC Arena. In this bout, Du Plessis will defend his middleweight title for the first time against Adesanya at UFC 305, scheduled for Saturday, August 18. If ‘Izzy’ wins this fight, he will become the middleweight champion for the third time.
The main card will begin at 10 p.m. ET, with prelims starting at 8 p.m. ET. In the UK, the event will kick off at 3 a.m. BST. Fans in the US can watch the fight on ESPN+, while those in the UK can tune in on TNT Sports.
Besides the headliner, fans can also look forward to other exciting bouts, including the co-main event featuring Kai Kara-France vs. Steve Erceg in the bantamweight division and a lightweight showdown between Mateusz Gamrot and Dan Hooker on the main card. A thrilling night of action is expected.
