Shedeur Sanders has made his feelings clear on the Texas quarterback debate as he is now giving his two cents on Quinn Ewers and the ‘tough situation’ forced upon Arch Manning.

The Texas Longhorns are blessed with two very talented signal-callers in, Quinn Ewers and Manning.

When Ewers missed multiple weeks with an oblique injury, Manning had to step in and lead the top-ranked Longhorns to consecutive victories.

Once Ewers returned, he took over the job, which led to a loss to Georgia and a narrow win over Vanderbilt while Arch Manning returned to the bench.

Ewers bad play in the first half against the Bulldogs got him benched for Manning, but it wouldn’t last long.

The debate between the two has grown so widespread that even stars on other teams are talking about it.

On a recent episode of his “2Legendary” podcast, Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders explained how he never thought Ewers would lose his starting job, but felt like Arch Manning wasn’t in the ideal situation either.

“I mean, Arch is still young. He has a lot of time to grow and succeed, I would say,” Sanders said. “I think for Quinn, the only difference was that they were trying to change it up a little bit to spark something, but I feel like it was going to go back to Quinn anyway.

“But I think it’s tough putting Arch in this situation. Especially when momentum isn’t on your side. It’s really hard to ask a freshman player to do that.”

It’s quite the brutal message to send but Arch likely knew he would lose the starting job back to Ewers no matter how good he was playing.

The Longhorns sent a big message to Ewers when he was benched for the final two series of the first half against the Bulldogs on Oct. 19 after a dismal start to the game.

Once halftime was over, Ewers returned back to the field and finished out the game.

Is Arch Manning Already A Top NFL Draft Pick?

Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning isn’t eligible to be drafted until the 2026 NFL Draft.

However, he already looks like a star.

As Texas fans are well aware, Manning is expected to take over for Quinn Ewers in 2025, but after that season, it’s unclear how long he’ll remain in Austin.

Arch is already being considered a first-round pick in the 2026 class despite having made just two career starts at Texas.

It is truly a testament to the insane talent that he possesses despite not being able to showcase it yet.
