There’s no doubt that Netflix has become more than just a major player in films, web series, and documentaries. It has now stepped into the world of sports, offering content related to boxing, WWE, and even the NFL. As Netflix continues to expand its reach, Joe Rogan feels the recent developments suggest it might be eyeing a collaboration or possibly even a takeover with UFC — Dana White’s promotions.

In a recent conversation with comedian Tim Dillon, Joe Rogan shared his thoughts on Netflix and hinted at a major shift for the UFC. While expressing his admiration for the platform, Rogan noted that Netflix has an overwhelming amount of content but remains a powerhouse in global entertainment.

He went on to suggest that the UFC might be heading to Netflix soon, calling the possibility “wild” and pointing out the platform’s massive international reach. In his words, Netflix has too much content. I love Netflix, don’t get me wrong…I think the UFC might be going to Netflix soon. Wild! Because Netflix is international, it’s everywhere.

This move signals a shift in the platform’s focus, showing that it aims to dominate not only entertainment but also live sports content. While nothing has been officially confirmed, the move would mark a huge moment in both sports and streaming history, bringing two massive industries even closer together.

As the UFC’s broadcast deal with ESPN approaches its expiration, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos has sparked speculation by discussing the platform’s approach to live sports. Sarandos didn’t mention the UFC directly but emphasized that Netflix only seeks to host large-scale, globally appealing events.

He made it clear that Netflix’s live sports strategy is selective and driven by value. They’re not looking to commit to long-term deals unless the event is both highly popular and financially justified. Netflix’s interest in live sports could reshape how major events like the UFC are streamed, but any deal will depend on global appeal, financial logic, and strategic fit with their platform.
