MMA Influencer Slam Belal Muhammad’s Canelo Hands Claim After Brutal Loss At UFC 315
Belal Muhammad has previously claimed that his boxing skills are on par with those of Canelo Alvarez, highlighting his confidence in his striking ability. However, after his performance at UFC 315, where Jack Della Maddalena outclassed him on the feet, that statement has come under heavy criticism. Many, including MMA Guru, pointed to the fight as proof that Muhammad’s striking isn’t at the elite level he believed, especially when his takedowns failed to shift the momentum.
He mocked claims comparing Belal’s hands to Canelo Alvarez, pointing out how one-sided the fight was. According to him, Jack Della Maddalena dominated Belal on the feet, especially once the takedown attempts failed. In his view, it was clear that Belal found himself in deep trouble standing with JDM, who controlled the striking exchanges from start to finish.
“‘I’ve got hands like Canelo’ #UFC315, Jack Della Maddalena really beat tf out of Belal Muhammad, holy moly. Bro got stuck on the feet in a nightmare with JDM when he couldn’t get his takedowns,” he said.

Indeed, there was a noticeable difference between Muhammad’s performance against Leon Edwards and what he showed at UFC 315. This time, he seemed overly confident in his striking, despite wrestling being his biggest strength. That decision may have cost him dearly against someone as sharp on the feet as HDM. Now, all eyes are on Belal’s next move, whether he returns to his wrestling roots or considers a fresh start in a new division.
What’s Next For Belal Muhammad After UFC 315?

Now that ‘Remember the name’ has lost, and considering he’s not very popular with fans, it’s unlikely he’ll get another title shot anytime soon. With Islam Makhachev now planning to move up to welterweight, Belal might also consider making a jump, possibly to middleweight, to reset his path and find a fresh start in a new division.
Not to forget, he had already started trading words with Khamzat Chimaev before UFC 315. So a move to middleweight isn’t out of the question. If he makes the jump and picks up a couple of strong wins, a fight with Chimaev could become a real possibility, whether it’s for a title or a high-stakes contender bout.
