Tragic Shooting Incidents Claim The Lives Of 2 College Athletes
Two college athletes have lost their lives in separate shooting incidents near the end of May.
The athletes, who played different sports for different schools, have plunged the college sports world into mourning following the tragic circumstances.
Basketball player Jamarion Brown, who attended Henderson State University, reportedly got shot in the head at a pool party on Friday and later succumbed to his injury. He had only been at the school for one year.
The university has published a statement expressing shock and sadness in the wake of his brutal killing.
“It is with deep sadness that Henderson State Athletics mourns the death of junior men’s basketball student-athlete Jamarion Brown,” it reads. “‘Jo’ spent just one season in Arkadelphia, but his impact on our campus was profound.”

His loss leaves a tremendous void on our campus, but Jo will be remembered and honored in our hearts forever.”
Brown was 23.
Police have disclosed that a 17-year-old suspect is in custody and is facing additional charges, as two other people sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
