“People Want To Talk About It” – Aaron Judge Opens Up On The Most Unforgettable Part Of His Career
Aaron Judge is putting up numbers baseball hasn’t seen in decades, but even now, fans still bring up the one moment he wishes had gone differently.
In a recent interview with USA Today, the Yankees’ captain opened up about his unforgettable drop in Game 5 of last year’s World Series. With a 5-0 lead in the fifth inning and Gerrit Cole cruising on the mound, Judge misplayed a routine fly ball off the bat of Tommy Edman. What should have been a third out instead sparked a Dodgers rally. Four innings later, L.A. was celebrating a championship in the Bronx.
“Stuff like that happens,” Judge said. “I’ve just got to make the play… What are you going to do? People want to talk about it. It happened. There’s nothing that can change that.”
Aaron Judge Is Having A Historical Season

If Judge was looking to silence critics, he is doing it with one of the greatest seasons in recent memory. Through early June, the Yankees slugger is hitting an eye-popping .391 with 21 home runs, 50 RBIs, and an MLB-leading 1.249 OPS.
He is not just ranking, he is chasing history. Judge is currently on pace to challenge Babe Ruth’s single-season total bases record, a feat that hasn’t even come close to being touched in modern baseball.
His dominance was on full display in a recent matchup against the Dodgers, where he launched two home runs, this time with no glove needed.
While fans continue to debate the World Series error, Judge has turned the page. As Yankees captain, he is focused on setting the tone, both on and off the field.
“You move on,” he said. “You’ve got to go make the next play.”
That mindset is fueling the Yankees’ strong start to 2025, and Judge’s MVP campaign.
