Atlanta Falcons Sign Former Dallas Cowboys Quarterback As Questions Continue To Surround Kirk Cousins

Ben DiNucci is getting another shot in the NFL after spending some time in the UFL.
After losing backup quarterback Emory Jones to an injury Friday night, the Atlanta Falcons have signed former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and XFL standout Ben DiNucci.
Atlanta head coach Raheem Morris said on Monday that neither Michael Penix Jr. nor Kirk Cousins will play in the exhibition finale against Dallas on Friday.
That means Penix, the No. 8 overall pick of last year’s draft, is going to go into his second year without any preseason play.

Kirk Cousins did not suit up for Friday’s preseason game against the Titans. It was the second consecutive exhibition that neither he nor Penix played.
Cousins is slated to serve as the backup to Penix in 2025, but if a team needs a starter in the coming weeks or months, Cousins could find himself on the move.
He is fresh off attending a game with his family, only to be subjected to a fan trolling him about the team he played for in the league.
Drafted in the seventh round in 2020, Ben DiNucci spent two years with the Cowboys before he made his way to the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL/UFL.
Ben DiNucci Hasn’t Played In A Regular-Season game In Five Years

Will Ben DiNucci play in the regular season in 2025? That remains to be seen, but he has been signed.
Veteran quarterback Ben DiNucci announced on Monday that he’s signed with Atlanta.
The 28-year-old was last with the Saints. He had joined the club’s practice squad late last year and signed a futures deal with New Orleans after the season. But the team released him in late April.
DiNucci was a Cowboys seventh-round pick in 2020 and appeared in three games with one start as a rookie. That was the last time he played in the regular season.
He threw for 219 passing yards in the 2020 NFL season with the Dallas Cowboys.
Despite not playing as much, DiNucci reaped the rewards of being on the Cowboys. While in Dallas, he started a side hustle that blossomed into a lucrative business.
He started his streetwear brand, True Brvnd.
The Dallas-based company, which started in 2020, is veteran-owned and operated. The early hats featured “DALLAS” written upside down as a nod to the “upside down” days of the pandemic.
