DeMar DeRozan made headlines again with the famous Canadian Rapper Drake. The fire ignited when Drake wrote a lyric questioning DeRozan’s ability to bring a title for the Toronto Raptors. However, DeRozan offered his honest take on this matter and seems unbothered by Drake’s harsh comments.

DeRozan began his NBA career with the Toronto Raptors and spent nine years with the franchise. He averaged 19.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists and played 675 games in the Raptors’ core. Later, he was traded to the San Antonio Spurs in a deal that included Kawhi Leonard. Now, with the Sacramento Kings, he is again under the trade buzz, but he still holds his spot among the NBA greatness.

“I don’t care,” DeRozab talks about Drake’s disrespectful move towards him. “What I did there, I put my life on the line every single moment I stepped on the court. Nothing or nobody could ever take that away. I don’t get caught up in shenanigans or all the bull crap that comes with it. At the end of the day, I hoop. I go out there. Every true fan and every person that knows me there knows I represented that place more than anybody that ever came through there.”

The veteran’s presence focuses on keeping himself in shape for the league’s journey ahead. He contributed his best to the Raptors, and his legacy remains evergreen in the hearts of Toronto’s fans.

DeRozan was very honest about his first season with the Kings. He spoke about it openly and was not shy to admit the season’s rough experience. There were issues with the front office, coaching changes, and team chemistry, and he dealt with each problem.

“Just being honest with you there was just a lot of s*** that was going on,” DeRozan said. “You know, internally, we tried to fight through as players. And I could only imagine the coaching staff, and there was so much change from the front office. You all know there was a lot going on.”

Even with all the trouble, DeRozan believes the players tried their best to stay together and make the most of the season. With a fresh start, he hopes high this season. The team has a stable core, and they must be effective on the court when needed.
