After spending around three minutes against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, October 26, Anthony Edwards had to exit the court abruptly due to an injury in his right hamstring. He had scored five points in a game where his team won by merely four points. 

Then, on Monday, October 27, the 24-year-old star was reported to miss the game against the Denver Nuggets. With the Timberwolves now set to take on the Los Angeles Lakers on October 29 at their home, the Target Center in Minneapolis, the major question looming is whether Edwards will return this Wednesday. 

Well, the report certainly isn’t overwhelming for a Minnesota Timberwolves fan, as Anthony Edwards will miss around two weeks due to the right hamstring strain.

Since the report of Edwards’ two-week sidelining came out a couple of days ago, fans can expect him back by mid-November. If everything goes well, he might target his comeback game against the Utah Jazz on November 10 or against the Sacramento Kings on November 14.

While the Minnesota Timberwolves are quietly strengthening their bench, Edwards is the man around whom the team is building. Moreover, prior to this season, in the 2025-26 NBA GM survey, the indications were clear: the 24-year-old star will become the next big superstar. Since he suffered a setback last Sunday, sidelining him for the next two weeks, the team will certainly look to figure out new combinations. 

Against the Indiana Pacers, NBA veterans Mike Conley and Donte DiVincenzo filled the guard position. Then, against the Denver Nuggets, the same duo was part of the starting lineup, indicating the trust the Timberwolves have in them in the absence of Anthony Edwards. 

While the Minnesota Timberwolves heavily rely on Julius Randle and Jaden McDaniels to inspire the team for yet another Western Conference Finals run, they have quite a decent bench to replace any of the designated players during tough times.
