Kyle Tucker’s next move might reshape MLB’s power balance. The 28-year-old outfielder is officially hitting the open market, and the price tag, well, isn’t for the faint of heart.

According to Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter, Tucker is projected to command a massive long-term $350 million deal that could span over 10 years. The slugger is predicted to be one of the priciest free agents in the offseason. After a short stint with the Chicago Cubs that ended in an NLDS exit, Tucker’s short stay might turn into a long chase for contenders willing to pay up. One MLB insider even shared a brutal reality on the All-Star’s future

On Thursday, Reuter broke down his market value in his latest report:

“Age, track record, and a well-rounded skill set that should age well are all on Kyle Tucker’s side as he gets set to hit the open market for the first time in his career. Despite playing through some nagging injuries during the second half, he was still a 4-WAR player for the fifth consecutive season, and he also logged the third 20/20 campaign of his career.”

At that price point, only a few heavy hitters are expected to join the race. The New York Yankees, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, and Chicago Cubs headline the list of top suitors. Tucker even outshines Cody Bellinger as the ideal choice for the Yanks

That said, Kyle Tucker’s next deal could rival baseball’s most significant outfield contracts and perhaps reshape a franchise’s future overnight.

With Kyle Tucker all but gone, the Cubs’ focus has shifted to finding a star who can match his production. Alex Bregman, however, tops that list. The front office reportedly went after him last offseason, offering a four-year deal worth around $100–120M, but the Red Sox outbid them with a shorter, higher-value contract.

GM Jed Hoyer admitted during spring training:

“Ultimately, I feel like we made a strong offer. But clearly it wasn’t enough and again, when you’re in free agency, most of the time a player goes to the highest bid. The Red Sox got a great player. They were aggressive and kudos to them, they got a great player. But I’m glad that we were able…given where we are with our budget right now, I’m glad that we were able to pursue it and, like I said, I’m thankful that we were able to.”

Bregman, still one of baseball’s most polished bats, would instantly fill Kyle Tucker’s 4.5 WAR-sized void. If Chicago’s ready to spend, Bregman’s reunion call should come sooner rather than later.
