UFC veteran Daniel Cormier mentioned that Arman Tsarukyan is very silent about not getting a title shot opportunity. Cormier said that any other fighter would have burst out on social media for getting the title shot. And recently, Tsarukyan explained the real reason the UFC didn’t give him an interim title shot at UFC 324.

Everyone thought pulling out from a title fight against Islam Makhachev was the only reason for keeping the Armenian fighter out. The 28-year-old was reminded of his mistakes—hitting a fan during his walkout and, most recently, headbutting Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar during the face-off. Talking about it, Tsarukyan said:

“I am supposed to fight for the title. And then they said, “You’re too dangerous to push you on the first card on the paramount. Because of the headbutt. Pullout, punched the fan,” That’s why they said you gotta wait.”

Meanwhile, Tsarukyan also stated that he cannot do anything and is now waiting for the opportunity. Meanwhile, the 28-year-old remains optimistic about capturing the belt, and he remains calm about his future fight.

The UFC lightweight division never stays quiet, and Arman Tsarukyan is the latest reason why. Despite being ranked number one and coming off a strong win over Dan Hooker, the UFC didn’t let him fight at UFC 324 for the interim lightweight title fight. However, talking about his rank and about the belt, he went off on X and wrote:

“Number 1 next to my name for a reason. The belt is just a formality at this point.”

The UFC booked Paddy Pimblett vs. Justin Gaethje for UFC 324 as the promotion doesn’t want to risk their first numbered event with Paramount. However, Tsarukyan still aims for the UFC gold, and fans will wait to see when and where he will receive the title shot.
