It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Dana White is one of the most influential figures in sports. From MMA to boxing and even Power Slap, he has played a major role in changing the game. However, it seems White doesn’t see much value beyond combat sports, as an old video of him ridiculing soccer has resurfaced on the internet, angering fans.

His reasoning was absurdly reductive, claiming that three-year-olds can play it because you just run and kick a ball. In his words, “I can’t support soccer. It’s the least talented sport on the planet. There’s a reason a three-year-old can play it. You just run and kick a ball.”

The internet’s anger makes sense. Soccer fans don’t appreciate their sport being disrespected by someone who doesn’t understand it. White’s comments come across as ignorant American sports bias rather than legitimate analysis.

That take ignores everything that makes soccer the world’s most popular sport. The technical skill, tactical intelligence, endurance, and coordination required at elite levels are extraordinary. Reducing it to “run and kick” is like saying MMA is just “punch and wrestle.”

One fan feels becoming a fighter is easier than being a soccer player: “It’s 10X easier to become a professional MMA fighter at 20 years old and no prior experience than it is to become a professional footballer.

One fan said, “There are around 3.5 billion football fans, Dana is a little jealous of the numbers.”

Meanwhile, one fan agrees but contradicts the UFC boss, saying, “Nah, soccer is lame but it’s hard as shit, very high skill ceiling.”

One fan feels White is jealous of the soccer fanbase, “Boss man is sad football is the number 1 sport in the world.

One fan’s comment read, “I honestly hate soccer because it is so complicated. It is not easy to kick a ball without over kicking it, its not easy to figure out how to pass a player with only your feet and the ball lol. Its easy to run with a ball in your hand and call it football.

On the other hand, one fan slammed the UFC boss, saying, “Honestly one of the worst takes I’ve ever seen.”

Meanwhile, one fan said, “Three year olds can also fight each other.”

The “Boss Man is sad” response suggests people see this as the UFC boss being insecure about soccer’s global popularity dwarfing MMA’s reach. Soccer doesn’t need validation from him, but the disrespect still bothers fans.
