The transfer portal’s closing stretch has turned into a chess match, and Jordan Seaton just moved a piece nobody saw coming. After spending three days in Baton Rouge with Lane Kiffin and LSU, the former Colorado tackle was supposed to hop on a flight to Eugene for his Oregon visit. That trip got scrapped, leaving most people thinking Kiffin had locked down his commitment.

Wednesday morning changed the script when Seaton dropped a photo on X with Oregon coach Dan Lanning and offensive line coach A’lique Terry standing beside him in Atlanta, flashing the “O” hand sign.

Lanning flew cross-country to meet Seaton face-to-face after the lineman bailed on a visit to Eugene. Seaton’s caption read simply: “Welcome to Atlanta @oregonfootball”.

And CFB Twitter came in hot with the takes.

One fan questioned the whole decision. “No way you picked Oregon over LSU… but okay.

Another wanted answers from anyone paying attention. “Can someone with knowledge of both LSU and Oregon explain why a #1 OT would choose Oregon over LSU?”

A Miami supporter noticed something missing from earlier visits. “Never saw you throwin up the U after the Canes visit.”

One user wasn’t impressed with the theatrics. “Bros a linemen thinking he’s in a movie.”

An LSU backer threw shade at the Ducks’ time slot. “No one watches Oregon football everyone is asleep.”

Another went straight to personal. “You’re a clown. You and Lanning are perfect for each other.”

One kept it short and brutal. “Shit lame”

Another added, “This dudes such a loser.”

Seaton’s playing his recruitment like it’s the fourth quarter with options still on the board, but some fans aren’t buying what he’s selling.

On3 analyst Shea Dixon logged a prediction on Tuesday, pointing Seaton toward LSU, even after the Atlanta meeting went public. The 6-foot-5, 330-pound tackle sits at No. 9 overall in the transfer portal rankings and carries a 91.4 pass block grade from Pro Football Focus. He allowed just five sacks across 940 snaps the past two seasons while earning second-team All-Big 12 honors in 2025.

Oregon needs him badly after losing multiple starters up front, especially with quarterback Dante Moore returning instead of jumping to the NFL. The Ducks sent 10 players to the 2025 draft, including first-rounder Josh Conerly Jr., giving them serious NFL development credibility. But LSU had the three-day visit, and Kiffin spent the weekend building his pitch in person. Seaton missed the Tigers’ spring enrolment deadline on Tuesday, but they’re still considered the favorite.
