Merab Dvalishvili was awarded the 2025 Fighter of the Year. Despite losing his title to Petr Yan at UFC 323, he got the best fighter award as he successfully defended his title three times in 2025. However, now UFC veteran Michael Bisping gives advice to Dvalishvili not to return quickly.

Indeed, fans started the rematch talk immediately when ‘The Machine’ lost his belt to Yan. However, the Russian fighter doesn’t want to give an immediate rematch to ‘The Machine.’ But Bisping gives a perfect timeline to the former bantamweight champion to return, and in a video, he said:

“I think if Merab takes some time off, maybe 6 months off, let Petr Yan fight Umar Nurmagomedov, and then come back and fight the winner. Taking 6 months away, go to Georgia, spend time with family, and don’t think about fighting.”

Everyone mentioned that Dvalishvili is fighting very actively, which would cost him his belt, and that happened. Now he is aiming to take back his belt and return. As of now, there has been no return date announced, but things get heated up between Yan and Dvalishvili.

It was clear that Merab Dvalishvili’s fans were super upset as he lost to Petr Yan. It was a dominant win for Yan, and he marked his dominance in the division as well. However, after the fight, the Georgian fighter went off on X over the Russian fighter and mentioned that fans should never believe whatever he writes on social media. On X, he wrote:

“Said he never said see you friend or said speedy recovery friend yesterday on Twitter – “wasn’t him”. How quickly he changed his mind – thought he was humbled when I beat him in 2023 and I was friendly toward him. Forget it now liar- Game On.”

Now, everyone has started talking about a trilogy fight between Yan and Dvalishvili. However, the newly crowned bantamweight champion shows interest in facing Sean O’Malley at the UFC White House. Even O’Malley showed interest in fighting him. However, fans have to wait for officials to confirm this fight.
