Latest Details Emerge on Anthony Edwards & Chris Finch’s Relationship Inside Timberwolves Locker Room
Anthony Edwards has been making all the headlines recently. Unfortunately, not for the right reasons. The Minnesota Timberwolves’ star was slapped with a $25,000 fine, following which Adidas released a troll video. And while he has been looking pretty impressive in form, Edwards has sparked rumors of a possible rift with Chris Finch.
As the Timberwolves played the Los Angeles Clippers lately, things got heated between ‘AntMan’ and his coach. During a vital situation in the game, the 24-year-old disobeyed Finch’s suggestions and hit a three-pointer.
With rumors about a possible crack in the relationship between them going wild, NBA analyst Christopher Hine had an interesting take on the matter. “They have days where they’re getting ready to fight, and then after the game they hug each other,” Hine said on X.

Surely, this was pretty much evident as the Wolves had a tricky game on their hands. Thanks to the 4-time NBA All-Star’s clutch three-pointer, Minnesota managed to pick up a 94-88 victory. But not before there was significant back-and-forth between Finch and Edwards.
Anthony Edwards Doubles Down On Strong Bonding With His Coach
The 24-year-old is on a roll at the moment. Dropping some stellar performances, he is now in the league of Luka Doncic and Michael Jordan. Coming to his latest antics in the game against the Clippers, the 2026 NBA All-Star MVP dropped a three-point shot with just over a minute remaining.
Now, while his coach asked him to pass the ball, Edwards, after nailing the shot, cursed Finch, saying, “That’s what the f**k I do!”
Later, in an interview with Jon Krawczynski, the 4-time NBA All-Star said, “Me and my coach got the best relationship ever. I mean, he be right most of the time –98% of the time, he be right. He told me to pass the ball tonight, and I should have passed it, but I shot it instead. And it went in. The basketball gods was on my side tonight.”
Here's Anthony Edwards when @JonKrawczynski asked about his final shot and if Finch told him he needed to pass it in that spot.

Surely, it is evident that the relationship between the two is quite a complex one. But for Timberwolves fans, they hope the bonding remains strong, in turn helping the team achieve greatness.
