Movsar Evloev Holds No Grudge Toward UFC After Being Passed Over For Next Title Shot
In the UFC, many times, the top contenders do not get a title shot. The reasons can vary, from bad behavior like Arman Tsarukyan to Belal Muhammad’s less exciting fights. Now, Movsar Evloev, who was the champion Alexander Volkanovski’s favorite and seen as his toughest challenger, got snubbed at UFC 325. However, he said he is not angry about it.
Evloev talked about the Volkanovski vs. Diego Lopez rematch and said the second fight was worse than the first. He said nothing really changed, and Lopez did everything he could, but it was not enough. When asked about missing the fight, Evloev said he is not upset because he lost his chance when he pulled out.
He said, “I don’t feel anything like that because, you know, I lose my chance, pulling out. So, and it was like, uh, UFC have reason to gave, the title shot to another one. And in that time, Lopez just knock out the good guy who was coming with the five, knockouts or something. And he did, he deserved it. And then people, a lot of people like to see his fight. So they did, and now it’s our turn.”

Indeed, even Volk has said he wanted the Evloev fight, but the matchmakers chose Lopez instead, and the result was the same, as ‘The Great’ did exactly what he had done before. Meanwhile, Evloev is now focused on UFC London, where he will fight Lerone Murphy and try to earn a title shot.

In his words, “Anyone will have no excuse. To see me as the number one contender for the title to deserve title shot.
