Seattle Seahawks HC Mike MacDonald Provides Important Update On Team’s White House Visit
Earlier this month, the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Patriots to win Super Bowl 60. They also did it at Levi’s Stadium, the home of their most hated rival.
Following Super Bowl LX, the team has a decision regarding President Donald Trump. The President was not at Levi’s Stadium to watch the Seahawks take on the New England Patriots. He was certainly watching the game since he took shots at Bad Bunny’s Halftime performance. Before the game, Trump picked the Patriots to win.
Usually, when a professional sports team wins the championship, it receives an invitation to the White House. Days after winning, fans thought the team had already turned it down due to a false report on X.
It turns out the Seattle Seahawks have not received their invitation yet.
Seattle Seahawks Expect Invitation To White House
Coach Mike Macdonald led the Seahawks to the second Super Bowl title in franchise history. The first championship team visited the White House in 2014. Will the second team go? Well, first, they need to be invited.
The Seattle Seahawks expect to be invited to the White House by President Donald Trump to celebrate their Super Bowl, head coach Mike Macdonald said Wednesday. Until then, they have not decided whether or not they will go.
Speaking at the NFL Scouting Combine, Macdonald was asked whether the team plans to visit. “We haven’t gotten an invite yet,” he said. “We’ll address it after that.”
It is a bit unusual since Trump has already invited the men’s hockey team after they won the gold medal at the Olympics. The coach declined to say whether he would prefer to go or not go. He added that it would be a group decision.
“We’ll wait for the invite and work through it,” he said via Greg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune. “I think it’s just everybody involved, just like we do everything else.”
