After seven years with the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders, Maxx Crosby is ready to start a new chapter in his NFL career. As soon as his name was floated among potential trade candidates, multiple teams joined the race to acquire his services.

The Baltimore Ravens sent two first-round picks to Las Vegas in exchange for Crosby. They beat the Dallas Cowboys and others for the coveted defender. While many, including the Cowboys, lamented the trade, others celebrated that Crosby will be far away.

According to Fox Sports insider Jay Glazer, Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton celebrated not having to face Crosby twice a year and even offered to pay him a private plane to leave Las Vegas.

“Sean Payton called me soooo fired up the Raiders traded Maxx Crosby and even just texted Maxx saying he’s offering to pay a private plane one-way flight to Baltimore, happy to see him out of the division,” Glazer tweeted on Saturday.

More than that, he paid his respect to Crosby.

“You are an inspiration to watch and compete against,” Payton reportedly said.

Amid rumors of a possible rift with quarterback Bo Nix, NFL analyst Danny Kelly predicted that Sean Payton would trade the second-year quarterback.

“The Broncos trade Bo Nix because of all this Sean Payton-Nix drama that’s happened,” Kelly said on “The Bill Simmons Podcast” on Thursday. “Even though it’s probably not really much drama.”

Kelly noted that Payton’s action during the combine rubbed people the wrong way. Nix came out and said the coach shouldn’t talk about his medical history. After going all the way to the 2025 AFC championship, the Denver Broncos could implode.
