The Dallas Cowboys had a strong interest in Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby. The veteran appeared to be back on the market after the Baltimore Ravens backed out of a trade for the five-time Pro Bowler.

Crosby returned to Las Vegas after a short-lived yet tumultuous time with the Ravens, which opened the door for other teams to try to make a swing for his services. The Cowboys, who previously offered a first- and a second-round pick along with defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa, looked like serious candidates to go for it again.

Jerry Jones didn’t close the door on a potential move for Crosby, but clarified that the Cowboys felt comfortable with their offseason moves.

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter discussed the Maxx Crosby situation. The insider shared that the free agency moves and the new coaching staff changed Crosby’s mind about leaving Las Vegas.

“If you’re Maxx Crosby and you’re the Raider you say you are, and he is, why do you want to leave that now when the Raiders are putting together some parts that make it more encouraging and give you more optimism than you had about that team in recent memory?” Schefter said.

The Raiders never wanted to trade Crosby, and now that he has committed again to the team, it will be harder to see them part ways.
