Something interesting is happening in Miami, folks. The city long known for beaches, nightlife, and the Miami Heat is now becoming a major destination for elite women’s basketball. Reported on March 8 by Olympics.com and USA Basketball, multiple high-level events and leagues are operating out of South Florida.

The timing, however, isn’t random. Many of the game’s biggest names are spending extended time in Miami during the offseason and international windows. Players like Breanna Stewart, Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark, and Paige Bueckers have all recently been in the city, creating a rare cluster of top-tier talent training, competing, and preparing for international tournaments.

The biggest catalyst is the new pro league Unrivaled, which has established Miami as its permanent home. The league wrapped its 2026 championship on March 4, with Mist BC (led by Stewart), winning the title. Games are played at the custom-built Sephora Arena, designed for an intimate, high-production fan experience.

At the same time, USA Basketball is hosting its women’s national team training camp at Kaseya Center. The camp serves as preparation for the upcoming World Cup qualifying event in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This implies the sport’s biggest stars are now training and competing in the same city.
