New York Mets Fan Gets Pummeled By Girl After Letting Foul Ball Drop [VIDEO]
Catching a ball in the stands is one of the greatest delights for any MLB fan. No matter the age, it sparks a childish excitement, and grabbing the ball brings a magical joy to that person. But letting one slip from the grasp can be just as excruciating. One New York Mets fan realized it the hard way on Wednesday afternoon.
The Arizona Diamondbacks faced the New York Mets for Game 2 of their series at Citi Field on Wednesday afternoon. A Diamondbacks batter hit a foul ball that sailed high over the catcher into the upper deck seats. The ball found a young couple wearing Mets hats; even they were sitting almost alone in that little pocket.

The young man naturally jumped out of his seat in excitement at seeing the fly ball coming right towards him. Unfortunately, he fumbled the catch and leaned over the railings as he watched the ball drop into lower-deck seats. But losing the souvenir was not the only sad thing that happened to him.
What followed was just as embarrassing, if not more so. The poor fellow’s girlfriend showed no sympathy for his misfortune. Instead, she proceeded to start battering him on the back for dropping the catch. The young woman gave a low kick to the back of his knee as well to express her disappointment.
David Peterson Suffers Another Tough Outing In New York Mets Loss
The New York Mets ended their four-game winning streak after going down to a 7-2 defeat in Game 2 of their series against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Citi Field on Wednesday. David Peterson had another rough start after allowing five earned runs to the D-backs over 5.0 innings.
“We relied on the sinker and changeup too much and allowed hitters to kind of sit over the plate,” Peterson said about his outing, as per The Athletic. “In my eyes, it’s more about usage than it is execution.”
Peterson enjoyed a solid start to the 2026 campaign but now has a battle on his hands to stay in the Mets’ rotation. The 30-year-old right-hander has given up 15 base hits and 10 earned runs in 9.1 innings over his last two starts.
