Ronda Rousey’s UFC Pay Comments Backfire As Kayla Harrison Slams Netflix Move As “Chasing Money”
In recent times, Ronda Rousey has been making a lot of noise and taking shots at the UFC. Kayla Harrison watched Rousey make UFC pay complaints while simultaneously signing for a Netflix payday. And now she decided the gap between those two positions needed to be addressed directly.
As per Harrison, Carani is returning from a decade away from competition after consecutive knockout losses. The other stepped back into a cage for the first time in seventeen years. Both are true legends in women’s combat sports. But in Harrison’s view, neither fight reached the level of the greatest of all time, even though the Rousey vs Carano build was promoted that way.
“It’s between someone who hasn’t fought in 10 years and is coming off two knockout losses and another woman, again another legend, another pioneer, but hasn’t fought in 17 years and is in her 40s. Don’t call it the greatest fight of all time. I’m chasing greatness. You’re chasing money. We’re different,” Harrison said.

UFC champ Harrison has two Olympic gold medals and a PFL championship and is currently competing at the highest active level available to her. The self-description of chasing greatness is not empty; it is supported by a competitive resume that grounds the claim. Rousey called it the biggest fight in MMA right now. Harrison called it what she sees it as.
UFC Veteran Rejects Ronda Rousey’s Criticism Of Kayla Harrison
Brown does not believe people truly see Rousey as a real competitive threat if she returns. He said it directly. In his view, she would not trouble Harrison, and the comeback talk feels aimed more at casual fans than serious followers of the sport.
“I don’t think anyone’s buying the schtick. Nobody believes that she’s going to f*ck with Kayla Harrison if somehow that ever was to come to fruition. No one’s buying into this sh*t,” Brown said.
.@iamtheimmortal can only laugh at Ronda Rousey's recent outburst at Kayla Harrison during the #RouseyCarano press conference:

Harrison has said something similar from her side. She calls herself a greatness chaser and separates her real goals from what the Netflix card represents. Brown saying the same thing from the outside, in a blunt way, makes the criticism feel more credible and harder for promoters to counter.
