Victor Wembanyama has been the name that has taken the NBA by storm. After creating some significant hype with his incredible basketball display, the San Antonio Spurs face a stern battle. Just like in Game 1, where Wemby halted the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 9-game win streak, the Spurs fans will hope for a similar outcome in Game 6. But is he fit to play?

Thankfully, the ‘Alien’ is perfectly fine and will be suiting up as a main character for the conference finals. Till now, the battle for supremacy between Wembanyama and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been exquisite. Dropping 32 points in Game 5, Gilgeous-Alexander is currently in the driving seat.

Following Game 5, the 2026 NBA Defensive Player of the Year walked right past the media in frustration. This gesture immediately landed him in trouble as the league warned him for violating the media access rules.

While the Spurs wanted to surge ahead for the second time in the series, the 22-year-old had a muted Game 5. Logging in for 38 minutes, the star player could only chip in with 20 points, one assist, and six rebounds.

Likewise, betting everything on Wembanyama, head coach Mitch Johnson dropped an obvious statement.

How Much Of An Impact Has Victor Wembanyama Had On San Antonio Spurs?

Game 6 will be a make-or-break situation for the Spurs. And while the team needs to put their best foot forward, head coach Johnson stated that the team is looking eagerly for Wembanyama to drop another career night.

According to recent reports, Bictor Wembanyama had to sneak out of Shaolin Temple to get meaty meals to boost his protein intake

We’re going to need to [get him going]. He’s got to take more than 15 shots, even with the free throws… He’s going to have to score more than 20 points, for sure,” Johnson said.

Wembanyama’s performance has been directly related to San Antonio’s win. In both the games they won, the 22-year-old averaged 37 points and 16 rebounds. On the contrary, in all the games the Spurs lost, the 7-foot-4 star could only contribute 22.3 points per game.

Thus, it is evident that the Spurs’ star must deliver to keep the series alive. Now, fans are eager to see how things pan out next.
