Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd have shared the court for years. They won a national title together at UConn. Now they play for the same WNBA team in Dallas.

For the first time, both speak openly about their romantic relationship. The comments appear in Apple TV’s new three-part series The Dynasty: UConn Huskies. The show premieres Friday.

“It kind of just meshed as soon as we met,” Bueckers said. “She’s sweet. She’s genuine. She has a huge caring heart.”

She added that something shifted early.

“We kind of felt like a spark, a little bit different than what would just be considered a normal friendship.”

Fudd offered a clearer statement.

“Paige and I are a couple, and everyone close to us that was important knew,” she said. “But it was kind of one of those things. It’s just — it’s private, not a secret, but it’s private.”

The two have kept their relationship largely out of the spotlight until now. Bueckers confirmed they were dating in 2025. Fudd once posted a phone case that read “Paige Bueckers’ girlfriend.”

They first met as teenagers at a USA Basketball camp. Bueckers later helped recruit Fudd to UConn. The pair became roommates and later won the 2025 national championship together.

Dallas drafted Bueckers first overall in 2025. The Wings selected Fudd first overall the following year. The reunion immediately changed the franchise’s direction.

Bueckers averaged 19.2 points and 5.4 assists as a rookie on a 10-34 team. Fudd’s arrival helped Dallas climb to 20-16 this season. The Wings sit in playoff position with eight games left.

Fudd averaged 13.1 points and led all rookies in steals before her season ended. She will undergo arthroscopic surgery on her right knee. She has not played since August 5.

The timing of the documentary feels bittersweet. Dallas has gone 1-4 since she went down. Still, the pairing has already doubled the team’s win total from last year.

Their story adds another layer to the growing visibility of college athlete journeys that continue into the pros. The Wings now build around the two young stars. Bueckers is well on the way of becoming a household name in the W, but she still needs to overcome this rough patch.
