Three Yankees fans jumped onto the field during Wednesday’s game against the Seattle Mariners. The incident happened in the fifth inning at Yankee Stadium and forced a short delay. Security staff reacted immediately and took the fans down hard.
The spectators hopped the wall and sprinted toward center field. Multiple guards closed in fast. One fan needed several officers to restrain him. The scuffle tore his shirt off. The game suffered a three-minute delay as a result. Fans in the stands captured the chaos on video. Clips spread quickly online showing the aggressive tackles.
Yankees Fans Create Chaos in the Fifth Inning
The field invasion came while the Yankees trailed 5-3. The disruption did not last long. Once security cleared the field, the home team started to climb back into the contest. Trent Grisham launched a home run later in the fifth that helped even the score.
Grisham kept producing. He hit a go-ahead double in the seventh and added another two-run homer in the eighth. He finished with four RBIs and three runs scored. Rookie Spencer Jones contributed three RBIs with a pair of doubles. The Yankees poured on runs and closed out a 10-5 victory.
