GMA’s Michael Strahan shares surprising details of pre-space flight routine

Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan shared details of his pre-flight routine with his co-stars on Wednesday, just hours before his space launch was delayed 48 hours.
The former NFL star will be part of Blue Origin’s third human flight taken this year, following the headline-making space venture by founder Jeff Bezos and later Star Trek star William Shatner.

On Wednesday he and his fellow astronauts joined Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos to discuss their preparations, and Michael teased that he has been sleeping “better before the pre-flight routine” than his past pre-game routines.
“I am with my fellow astronauts and we have been training so much, going through different protocols and safety functions,” he shared. “I know we are all excited but we have bonded as a team.”

George and Robin were over the moon for Michael, asking questions about preparations and how it felt to first put their space suits on.
Joining him on the flight are Laura Shepard Churchley, the eldest daughter of astronaut Alan Shepard, and four others including the first father-son duo into space.
Michael will be part of Blue Origin’s third human flight to space
The 10-minute flight will launch from West Texas carrying on Saturday 11 December.
“I am taking my retired Giants jersey, my Hall of Fame ring, my Super Bowl ring, some special watches,” Michael previously revealed, as well as “the most special thing to me”, the shell casings that were fired from the gun at his father’s military funeral.
The morning show host shared the preparations he had made for his big journey
He continued: “My dad was a paratrooper and, you know, hopefully I’m staying in the ship. He jumped out of planes but it makes me feel closer to him so I love my dad and that’s for my pops.”
The 50-year-old also told fans that reporting on the first launch from earlier in 2021 left him fascinated with the prospect of space exploration and led to him saying yes immediately once approached.
