Nick Cannon‘s five-month-old son Zen has died of a brain tumor.
The TV personality confirmed the tragic news on The Nick Cannon Show on Tuesday morning.

The 41-year-old revealed the tumor developed quickly around Thanksgiving, and he broke down in tears as he shared that the pair went to the beach on Sunday where he held him for the last time.

Zen’s mother, model Alyssa Scott, and Nick noticed his head seemed large and they thought he had developed a sinus issue when he was around two-months-old.
Fluid had built up in Zen’s head, and doctors discovered a tumor that required immediate surgery. However, it continued to grow.

Zen is Nick’s seventh child and the first of four to be born in the last 12 months; twins Zillion and Zion were born in June, and his daughter, Powerful, was born last December.
Nick is father to seven children, including Golden who was born in February 2017 and 10-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey
Nick broke down in tears
“I haven’t shared this news with anyone, not even the crew,” Nick began, showing a picture of Zen as his pic-of-the-day.
“My youngest son, Zen Scott Canyon, right there,” he said before becoming overcome with emotion. He then told the story of how they dicovered his illness and how he spent Sunday with his son at the beach.
“I wanted to make sure I allowed the sun to rise and hold my son, and holding my son for the last time… it was a beautiful setting to spend that whole day,” he shared.

Mariah and Nick announced their split in 2014, but their divorce was only finalised in 2017.
Despite their divorce, the former couple have remained on good terms and make sure their children always come top of the priority list.
“We’ll always be a family,” he previously said on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. “We make the kids the number one priority, for them to see their parents together and for everybody to get along and have a good time.”
