NFL fans are stunned over EA Sports rating of Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts for “Madden 24.”

The official @EAMaddenNFL Twitter account released their quarterback ratings on Friday. Unsurprisingly, Kansas City Chiefs’ superstar Patrick Mahomes was the top-rated quarterback at 99 overall.

He was followed by Joe Burrow (95), Josh Allen (94) and Lamar Jackson (91). Surprisingly, however, Hurts was a) the fifth-rated quarterback and b) rated at just 88 overall.

As you could imagine, football fans were stunned and baffled by Hurts’ “Madden 24” rating.

Indeed, it’s hard to justify Hurts being rated 88 overall when he finished second in MVP voting last season. The soon-to-be 25-year-old completed 66.5 percent of his pass attempts for 3,701 yards and 22 touchdowns against just six interceptions to go along with 760 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns.

Hurts didn’t throw a single interception in the postseason, either. He had three passing touchdowns, 143 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. His Eagles narrowly lost to the Chiefs in Super Bowl 57 thanks to a very questionable holding call against James Bradberry late in the game.

At any rate, Hurts has already cemented himself as one of the top-four quarterbacks in the game heading into 2023. EA Sports updates their player ratings throughout the season, so it might not even be long until Hurts is a top-two rated quarterback.
