Tua Tagovailoa Reveals Why He ‘Hates’ Being Famous Sometimes
Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa opened up during a recent interview and talked about what it is like being famous.
The Miami Dolphins star quarterback is used to hearing noise surrounding him when it comes to his professional career, but he would be fine if it just ended there.
Tagovailoa recently revealed why he hates being famous in this day and age.
“I am a very private person. I think people somewhat understand that. But I really, I really do like my privacy,” the Dolphins quarterback said in a recent interview with the Palm Beach Post.
“There are a lot of moments where I wish I could just be normal. Where I could just do things that I would normally have done in high school or growing up.”
Being the quarterback of any team in the league means all eyes would be on you more than any other player in the league. With that status comes an interest in a player’s personal life and every move they make. As much as Tua tries to hide his personal life, it will eventually come out at some point.
As for his career, Tagovailoa had spurts of greatness in 2022, having led the NFL in several passing categories heading into the mid-point of the season. The concussions from last season have been the main issue leading Tagovailoa and his training team to focus on how to “avoid the unnecessary hits” as well as developing ways to counter those hits.
With an offseason that’s seen Tagovailoa bulk up and figure out how to avoid hits to the head, the sky is the limit for the Dolphins if Tua can play in all 17 games.
The Dolphins have the added challenge of being in a difficult division, playing the dominant Buffalo Bills and Aaron Rodgers-led New York Jets twice each.
Tagovailoa threw for a career-high in yards (3,548) and touchdowns (25) as the Miami Dolphins made the postseason in Mike McDaniel’s first year as head coach.
