NFL Fans Blasted Al Michaels For His Embarrassing Mistake During 49ers-Giants TNF Game (VIDEO)

Al Michaels has been around for a long time, so he is well aware of how many teams have won a Super Bowl and how many they have in their possession.

The longtime NFL broadcaster was in the midst of talking about the history of the 49ers as they were taking on the Giants on Thursday Night Football when he stated they had won four Super Bowls.

That was incorrect information as the franchise has won five.

“So you think about the 49ers, this is a franchise that has won four Super Bowls. Bill Walsh won two, George Seifert won two,” Michaels said. “But not since 1994.”

Michaels received some backlash for his mistake.

To his credit, he did later correct himself and give the 49ers their fifth Super Bowl.

The San Francisco 49ers beat the New York Giants 30-12 to win their 13th straight regular season game. Brock Purdy passed for a regular season career-high 310 yards and two touchdowns to help the San Francisco 49ers to a 3-0 record to start the 2023 season

Christian McCaffrey rushed for a touchdown and totaled 119 yards in a game where he was supposed to take it easy on a short week.

Deebo Samuel had six receptions for 129 yards and one score while George Kittle finally had a breakout game and caught seven passes for 90 yards. Ronnie Bell hauled in his first career touchdown catch for San Francisco.
