Deion Sanders Trashed His Own Team After Close Win Against Arizona State (VIDEO)
The Colorado Buffaloes are back in the winner’s column but you couldn’t tell it based on Deion Sanders’ reaction to it when speaking to reporters.
Despite the come-from-behind 27-24 win over Arizona State, Deion Sanders was far from pleased with how his Colorado team played on Saturday. A game-winning field goal flew through the uprights to secure a road win against Arizona State.
Sanders called the Buffaloes’ showing “hot garbage” during his postgame press conference.
The Buffaloes have certainly played against a higher level of competition this season and results looked a whole lot better, so barely getting a victory against the under .500 Sun Devils was not going to cut it.
“Wonderful win,” Sanders began. “We played like hot garbage and I’m trying to figure this out. I’m sick of it. I really am. I’m sick of us coming out here and putting forth the effort we put forth in the first half. We’ve had practices, we’ve had really diligent meetings, and we’re trying to figure this out.
“I’m happy with the win but I am not happy with the fashion we won in. We’re better than that. We really are better than that and we got to start showing that. I expect to win and I expect to win in a better fashion than that. I’m sick of these consistent holes that we’re displaying and the penalties. We’re so much better.”
With the win, the Buffaloes stopped a two-game skid and improved to 4-2 on the year. That victory would’ve not been possible if not for a go-ahead touchdown drive early in the fourth quarter and a five-play, 50-yard drive in 38 seconds that was capped off by Mata’s 43-yard kick.
Shedeur Sanders was sacked five times which further added to his tally as the most-hit quarterback in the country as the Buffs’ offense continues to struggle in the first half.
Sanders has taken a 1-11 team that had arguably the worst roster in all of college football and delivered a 4-2 record through six games. The only losses have been to top 10 teams, Oregon and USC.
