Scott Hanson in NFL RedZone

A major secret about NFL RedZone has been exposed on the back of Sunday’s surprising events.

In what was a definite first for both host Scott Hanson and NFL fans, an alarm went off in the building on live TV during the latter part of the show. Hanson announced that he and the rest of the crew were ordered to evacuate the Inglewood, California studio for an unknown reason, though the game between the Eagles and Bills would remain on.

Hanson returned a few moments later to reveal that everything was fine and everyone in the building was okay. He soldiered on through the rest of the show amid the blaring alarm.

“I am reminded of an old Chinese proverb which says, ‘May you live to see interesting times,’” he told viewers. “I’ve never had this happen before, I’m pretty sure all of our professionals haven’t either, but we soldier on …”

As it turns out, there is a backup studio on the other side of the country for such situations. Thankfully, it did not have to come into play.

We so did not know that…

Anyhoo, it was subsequently revealed that there was no fire in the building, with a spokesperson for the NFL citing a false alarm.

“Thankfully, there was no fire,” they told The Athletic. “No business functions, including NFL RedZone, were interrupted.”

Kudos to Hanson, though. The veteran host conducted himself in a stoic manner, remaining calm throughout what must have been a very worrying situation given that he had no idea what was going on.
