BREAKING: Houston Texans Make Shocking Decision At QB With C.J. Stroud Injured

When CJ Stroud went down with a concussion during the Houston Texans’ week 14 loss to the New York Jets, it was second-year quarterback Davis Mills who stepped in to take over under center.

That move was no surprise, seeing as how Mills has been number two on the depth chart all season — after being the Texans’ starter last year as a rookie.

However, he completed just one of his five pass attempts for only four yards in an ugly relief performance. That may have been enough for the Texans do decide that he’s not the one they want under center when they take on the Tennessee Titans in week 15 with their playoff hopes on the line.

According to reports, the Texans will instead be going with Case Keenum under center, as they prefer his “big-game experience” compared to Mills.

The Texans appear to have plenty of faith in Keenum, despite the fact that he has not started a game since the 2021 season, when he was a member of the Cleveland Browns.

In his two starts with the Browns in 2021, Keenum did manage to go 2-0. The 35-year-old has a 29-35 career record as a starter. He’ll be looking to get win number 30 on Sunday.
