15 Greatest Old-School Super Bowl Commercials Ever
The Super Bowl has a lot of benefits! It unites America together, it gives you an excuse to pig out all day with junk food, pop and alcohol, oh, and you get to spend time with all your friends and loved ones for the big game.
But some people who aren’t even football fans watch the Super Bowl just for the commercials, and rightfully so. The commercials are a reason alone to watch it all.
Because companies have to pay millions of dollars to air a 30-second commercial for the Super Bowl, they ensure that they are putting together their best.
Today present the 15 Greatest Old-School Super Bowl Commercials Ever.
15. E-Trade’s Super Adorable Commercial
Here, we have a baby talking to the audience in his mind about money-trading and problems with investing. Even though man of us probably ignore what E-Trade’s point of the message was, the baby and this Enzo guy make up for a heartwarming commercial!
Oh man, I think I’m tearing up a bit!
14. Marilyn Monroe and Snickers
Sadly, anyone born after the ‘50s didn’t get to notice the beauty of Marilyn Monroe. But this Super Bowl 50 commercial for Snicker’s brought back the nostalgic feeling for those who did witness her…while giving us a taste of what it was like to see such jaw-dropping looks.
I think I’m hungry for a Snickers now.
13. No Horsing Around
Budweiser always seems to put out great Super Bowl ads. In this one, they remind you to always remember your…Buds. Or else… allow a horse to intimidate you.
It’s safe to say this guy ended up on the right track. A horse track, that is.
12. German Engineers are something else
The Germans make good cars. If you’ve never wanted to own a Volkswagen before, we assume you do now. Because, well, the people who create them are really special, according to this commercial:
Can we assume American car sales went down for a while after this commercial?
11. Office Boss Terry Tate
Everyone who works in an office knows there are great workers, workers who could do better and workers who don’t really do a whole lot.

Next time you complain about your boss, just be thankful he doesn’t get you physically punished.
10. Darth Volkswagen
Star Wars is the coolest thing ever. The Super Bowl is the second coolest thing ever. A kid who thinks he’s Darth Vader is the third coolest thing ever. And look! We got a Volkswagen commercial that combined all three!
Finally, dad decides to make his kid feel like Darth…
9. Darth Dog
Thankfully, Volkswagen did a sequel for that Star Wars commercial. Needless to say, dogs can use the force, too.
And don’t worry, Darth Vader didn’t go anywhere.
8. Legend vs. Icon
Michael Jordan is the greatest NBA player of all-time, while Larry Bird is one of the greatest NBA players of all-time. These two starred in a McDonald’s commercial 2-and-a-half decades ago. Take a look at their iconic clash:

That was a great commercial. I’m PAWS-itive!
5. Defend the Doritos
Some of us will have to experience the tough task of dating a single woman with children…aaaaaand impressing their kids immediately. This poor man failed to eat a single Dorito and his girl’s son had no love for him.
Never touch a kid’s Doritos. Just don’t do it.
4. Budweiser’s Puppy Love
This commercial starts off sad and shows what many animals and dogs go through. Here’s another gem by Budweiser, showing a lonely puppy.
