Former Boston Celtics NBA champion Glen Davis made headlines last November for his involvement in a scheme to defraud the league’s health care plan out of millions of dollars. Recently, Davis opened up about his mental state as he prepared to serve his 40-month prison sentence.
In an interview with TMZ earlier this week, Davis discussed his readiness for the challenging journey ahead.
“I’ve been preparing mentally. About what I’m going to eat and how I’m going to live. I’m not nervous. I feel like I’m going to have a good, quality time in there. Learn things and meet new people. It’s going to be alright,” Davis said.
Nevertheless, the former Celtics star also took a moment to share his intention to connect with his fans, particularly addressing the ladies.
“Shout out to the ladies out there. Write me. I’ll be in there, getting fine as hell. When I get out, call me Big Baby Jailbait!” he added.
The case involved Davis and over 20 other former NBA players who collectively claimed over $5 million in fake insurance claims. The court found Davis guilty of multiple fraud charges and ordered him to pay $80,000 in restitution.
Apart from Davis, former NBA player Terrence Williams was sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered to pay $2.5 million in restitution. However, no other former NBA player has received a longer prison sentence than Davis.

Glen Davis began his NBA career when he was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2007, following a standout tenure at LSU. He went on to play eight seasons in the league, with stints with the Celtics, Orlando Magic, and Los Angeles Clippers.
During his time with the Celtics, Davis received significant acclaim for his contributions, most notably helping the team secure the 2008 championship.
Davis retired from the NBA after the 2014–15 season with the Clippers. Throughout his career, he averaged 8.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per game across 500 regular-season appearances.
