The Los Angeles Lakers were preparing for the upcoming season by making trade offers to crucial free agents, aiming to dominate the league. However, they faced setbacks as many star players, such as Klay Thompson, turned down their offers.

There was a recent surprising announcement from a former Lakers star player. Former NBA Champion Danny Green, who won the 2020 championship with the Lakers alongside LeBron James, revealed his plans for the future of the NBA.

During an interview with Valley Central at the Rio Grande Valley Vipers Basketball camp, the three-time NBA champion expressed his desire to return to the NBA if given the opportunity.

He clarified that he has not officially retired and highlighted that free agency is ongoing. Green, who most recently played for the Philadelphia 76ers, mentioned that he is open to offers and available for contract negotiations.

I would love to come back if I had the opportunity. I have not officially retired. There’s free agency going on right now, and my phone lines are open.” Green said.

Former NBA Champion Green Almost Done Unpacking Before Shocking Waiver Call

Draymond Green has 15 seasons of NBA experience. In April 2022, he suffered a torn ACL and LCL, which significantly impacted his career. Since then, he has only played in 13 games, representing the Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Memphis Grizzlies.

Green has played for six different teams in the NBA. Green is one of just four NBA players to have won titles with three other organizations: the San Antonio Spurs in 2014, the Toronto Raptors in 2019, and the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.

During an episode of his podcast “Inside the Green Room” in November 2023, Green mentioned that he was 90% finished unpacking when he received the call that he was being waived.

“This happens as I’m almost done unpacking all my stuff. We just moved in about a week ago and just got the family here a week ago. The wife, the baby, and the dogs. So we just got somewhat settled in the crib for about seven days. And now it’s like, you’ve got to figure it out.” Green said.

Green possesses experience in basketball that can significantly benefit any team, making Green an intriguing candidate for any team.
