Final Grades For All 32 NFL Teams From The 2024 NFL Season

What an exciting year it’s been for the NFL! Although the 2024 season has officially ended, it has also brought us thrilling on-the-field drama and intense action, keeping football fans enticed all season long. We saw some NFL teams take a step back while other teams came out of nowhere, which surprised us all season long and into the playoffs.
As per usual, every NFL team will make their adjustments for the 2025 season, and we can’t wait to hear about and see the moves they’ll make. Until then, let’s reminisce on the 2024 season.
Here are the final grades for all 32 NFL teams after the 2024 season.
Which teams garnered high remarks at the conclusion of the 2024 NFL season?
Arizona Cardinals: C-

The Cardinals improved from their 2023 season with a respectable 8-9 record. However, the Redbirds could’ve won more games in the 2024 season, as they ended the 2024 season with an 8-9 record. Between weeks nine and eleven, the Cardinals did have control of the NFC West, but it all slipped away.
The Cardinals did sweep their NFC West rivals, the San Francisco 49ers. Kyler Murray showed some great athleticism, and Budda Baker and Trey McBride were named to the Pro Bowl. The Cardinals need to find a way to improve further if they want to reach the 2025-26 playoffs in a very competitive NFC West.
Atlanta Falcons: C

Congratulations, Falcons. Although you improved upon your 2023 season with eight wins, you still didn’t make it to the playoffs. Kirk Cousins showed flashes of success on the field, but age may have caught up with the veteran signal-caller. Luckily, Michael Penix Jr. is on the roster and will improve in year two. Bijan Robinson had an incredible season with over 1,100 rushing yards, while Drake Mooney and Darnell Mooney commanded a strong passing attack.
The Falcons’ defense had some good moments in the 2024 season with a pick-six from Matthew Judon during their week 16 matchup against the New York Giants, but they have a lot to improve upon in 2025 if the Falcons want to return to the playoffs for the first time since the 2017 season.
Baltimore Ravens: A-

The Ravens may not have captured the one seed, as they did in the 2023 season, but they kept that competitive drive going after starting the season 0-2. Lamar Jackson once again had an MVP-like season for the Ravens, and nine team members made it to the Pro Bowl, including Zay Flowers, who became the first Ravens wide receiver to achieve that feat.
On defense, the team played well under defensive coordinator Zach Orr’s system but wasn’t as good as the 2023 squad, as they were 10th in the league defensively. This team earned the three-seed to the NFL playoffs but was knocked out of the Divisional Round 25-27 against the Buffalo Bills. The Ravens need to add another Pro Bowl-caliber wide receiver to the roster if they want to get over the hump and potentially reach the Super Bowl in the 2025-26 season.
Buffalo Bills: A-

The Bills had a phenomenal 2024 season, thanks to Josh Allen’s MVP season. James Cook had his second straight 1,000-plus-yard season on the ground, but the Bills’ wide receivers weren’t able to top 1,000 receiving yards in the passing attack despite everything the team achieved during the regular season. The Bills’ defense had a decent year in the middle of the pack, ranked 17th to conclude the regular season, but have some improvements to make in the future.
The Bills had a strong playoff run, but in a very controversial AFC Championship game, the Bills were sent home, while the Kansas City Chiefs returned to the Super Bowl. Just like the Ravens, the Bills need a Pro Bowl-caliber receiver on their roster for Josh Allen to connect with in the passing attack for a chance at a possible Super Bowl appearance in the 2025-26 season.
Carolina Panthers: D

Although many knew the Panthers weren’t going to have a good 2024 season, they did improve upon their 2023 season. Bryce Young had a rough start to the season and was benched for Andy Dalton, but Young returned to the field and showed some promise. Chuba Hubbard continued to be the Panthers’ best offensive player on the ground with his first 1,000-yard season on the ground, and Adam Thielen and Jalen Coker played significantly well in the passing attack.
However, the Panthers’ defense was at the bottom of the barrel outside of Jaycee Horn (who was named to the 2024 Pro Bowl). This team has a lot to clean up for the 2025 NFL regular season.
Chicago Bears: D

The Bears started the 2024 season on a good note, thanks to Caleb Williams slowly improving. However, after their week seven bye week, everything went downhill. Trey Hendrickson taunted Washington Commanders’ fans and failed to cover Noah Brown (who caught the game-winning hail-mary touchdown), starting the team-long 10-game losing streak until they snapped it with a 24-22 victory over the Green Bay Packers. D’Andre Swift showed flashes of success but had a bit of a rough season with the Bears.
Williams had good on-field chemistry with Rome Odunze, DJ Moore, and Keenan Allen but was sacked 68 times. The defense had a couple of shining moments but couldn’t get the job done when it mattered. Hopefully, new head coach Ben Johnson can turn the Bears around in 2025. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
Cincinnati Bengals: C

The Bengals started the 2024 season slow, with tough and painful losses to the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, and Washington Commanders, respectively. However, they showed a lot of fight and grit thanks to the performances of Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Chase Brown. Defensively, the Bengals kept them in games at times but have always had room for improvements in the 2025 off-season.
Although not making the playoffs stings, Burrow and Chase were still an offensive fighting machine, making every game for this team very competitive, especially with Burrow winning the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award, which was well deserved.
Cleveland Browns: D-

The Browns had a disastrous 2024 season. Deshaun Watson looked like he didn’t want to play for most of his games and suffered an Achilles injury in late October. Jameis Winston stepped up and showed some promise, but costly turnovers hurt his chances of completing the season. Jerry Jeudy and Jerome Ford stepped up on offense, and Nick Chubb returned to action but broke his foot near the end of the season.
The defense played hard and aggressively but wasn’t able to help the team secure the necessary wins they needed in the NFL last season. Even though the Browns are staying committed to Watson (who recently reinjured his Achilles), they certainly regret their decision to let Joe Flacco walk in free agency.
Dallas Cowboys: D

After winning the NFC East in 2023, the Cowboys had huge expectations to improve upon their season further. Unfortunately, injuries to Dak Prescott, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Trevon Diggs derailed the team’s chances of having a winning season and a shot at the NFL playoffs. Prescott played fairly well but suffered a hamstring injury and opted for surgery. Cooper Rush stepped up in Prescott’s absence but couldn’t help his team secure enough wins.
Ezekiel Elliot was way past his prime, while Rico Dowdle stepped up and played well, and CeeDee Lamb looked sharp. On defense, the Cowboys were a mixed bag with points and yards allowed but did have decent leadership in Micah Parsons and DaRon Bland. It can only be upward and onward for the Cowboys as they get prepared for the 2025 season, with the team’s new head coach, Brian Schottenheimer, taking command next season.
Denver Broncos: B-

The Broncos started the season slow but managed to turn things around thanks to Bo Nix’s improved play, Sean Payton’s coaching, and Vance Joseph’s defense. Nix started the 2024 season looking more like a questionable bust, but he stepped up and connected with Marvin Mims Jr. and Courtland Sutton. The defense had a great season on the field thanks to the leadership of Pat Surtain II (who won the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year award) and Nik Bonitto (who were both named to the Pro Bowl).
Because of their success, this team clinched their first playoff berth since the 2015 NFL season (the same season Peyton Manning helped the Broncos win Super Bowl 50). Now, the Broncos have to find a way to retake the AFC West from their divisional foes, the Kansas City Chiefs, and continue building on their successful 2024 season.
Detroit Lions: A-

The Lions had an incredible 2024 regular season, with Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Jameson Williams having excellent seasons offensively. However, the Lions’ defense took a lot of hits with the injury bug affecting Aidan Hutchinson, Alim McNeill, Kyle Peko, and Malcolm Rodriguez, respectively, and not having these guys in the team’s 31-45 Divisional Round loss to the Washington Commanders truly showed how much the Lions missed these key guys.
Give defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn (now the current head coach of the New York Jets) a ton of credit for the incredible work he accomplished with the unit with all of the injuries piling up. With Glenn and offensive coordinator Ben Johnson (now the head coach of the Chicago Bears) gone, the Lions need to find a way to replicate their regular season success from 2024 and earn their way back to the playoffs in the 2025-26 season.
Green Bay Packers: B+

The Packers’ 2024 season was memorable, to say the least, as the team got to work and secured their spot in the playoffs after a 2-2 start. Jordan Love continued to be the leader of the Packers on offense, while Josh Jacobs, who signed with the team in the 2024 offseason, dominated on the ground. Tucker Kraft emerged as a star in the Packers’ passing attack. On defense, the Packers made things miserable for their opponents in their victories, thanks to Rashan Gray and Xavier McKinney stepping up and being named to the Pro Bowl.
However, the Packers’ early NFL playoff exit in the Wildcard Round against the Philadelphia Eagles stung, and the team has to add a veteran wide receiver to further stabilize the passing attack as the NFC North continues to get more competitive.
Houston Texans: C

The Texans entered the 2024 season with high expectations and earned the AFC South crown for a second straight season, but the team finished the 2024 season on a somewhat sloppy note, even though the team stunned the Los Angeles Changers in the playoffs before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round. C.J. Stroud had a bit of a sophomore slump with 20 touchdowns against 12 interceptions and was sacked 52 times.
Joe Mixon stepped up on the ground and was named to the Pro Bowl, and Nico Collins was named to his first Pro Bowl. On defense, DeMeco Ryans and defensive coordinator Matt Burke coached a very good, hard-hitting unit, with Derek Stingley Jr. being named to the Pro Bowl. However, injuries to Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell hurt the team offensively, as the team hopes to have an even better 2025 season.
Indianapolis Colts: C-

The Colts had an okay season, which could’ve been better. The team finished the year with an 8-9 record and missed the NFL playoffs for a fourth straight time. Anthony Richardson struggled at times, and his comments about being too tired came back to bite him as Joe Flacco took command of the offense before struggles affected him. Jonathan Taylor had a tremendous season on the ground and was named to the Pro Bowl, and Alec Pierce stepped up in the passing attack, while Michael Pittman Jr. also had a tough season.
On defense, the Colts carried the team as best as they could, with linebacker Zaire Franklin being named to the Pro Bowl. The Colts need to sign a reliable backup for Richardson, just in case things go off track in the upcoming 2025 season.
Jacksonville Jaguars: F

The 2024 Jaguars were a miserable mess. Yes, the Jaguars earned key wins against the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots and swept the Tennessee Titans, but Trevor Lawrence had a brutally painful season, which ended due to injuries forcing Mac Jones into the stretch for the remainder of the season.
Meanwhile, Brian Thomas Jr. had an incredible rookie season statistically, finishing the year with 1,282 receiving yards and hauled in 10 touchdowns. The team’s new head coach, Lian Coen, has a lot of improvements to make in the 2025 off-season.
Kansas City Chiefs: B

Yes, Chiefs fans, we know the Chiefs finished the 2024 NFL regular season with an impressive 15-2 record, and yes, your team reached Super Bowl 59. However, the 2007 New England Patriots, they were not. The Chiefs won most of their games in one score possessions or luck with a lackluster group of wide receivers outside of Xavier Worthy (until DeAndre Hopkins was traded to the team and showed some good on-field chemistry with Patrick Mahomes). The Chiefs’ defense, coached by Steve Spagnuolo, was an aggressive unit that made things very difficult for opposing offenses.
However, when the Chiefs played in Super Bowl 59, all of their weaknesses were exposed by the Philadelphia Eagles in their humiliating 22-40 loss, ending their dreams of a three-peat. If the Chiefs want to return to the Super Bowl in the 2025-26 season, they need a signed Pro Bowl-caliber wide receiver and get Mahomes some help upfront on the offensive line.
Las Vegas Raiders: F

The Raiders were a miserable mess to watch in the 2024 regular season. The Silver and Black had a quarterback carousel between Gardner Minshew, Aidan O’Connell, and Desmond Ridder, as poor play and injuries affected the position. Antonio Pierce was fired a couple of days after the 2024 season concluded, and the Raiders started to win games near the end of the season, which knocked them back from having a much higher draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Raiders hired Pete Carrol to be the team’s next head coach, as he needs to find a new quarterback not just in free agency but in the 2025 NFL Draft as well. The Raiders also need a new Pro Bowl-like wide receiver outside of Jakobi Meyers and tight end Brock Bowers, a Pro Bowl-like running back, as the team’s rushing attack was very depressing to watch, and more offensive linemen to protect their new quarterback. We’ll have to wait and see what the Raiders can do in the 2025 offseason.
Los Angeles Chargers: B-

The Chargers improved upon their miserable 2023 season, thanks to Jim Harbaugh bringing back a winning culture to the team. Unfortunately, the Chargers were stunned out of the Wildcard Round of the playoffs against the Houston Texans. Justin Herbert had a great regular season, Quentin Johnston showed signs of improvement from his disappointing rookie season, and Ladd McConkey had an outstanding rookie season.
On defense, Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, and Derwin James each made the Pro Bowl, but Mack is set to be a free agent during the 2025 offseason. The Chargers need to sign an edge rusher if they aren’t able to re-sign Mack for the 2025 regular season.
Los Angeles Rams: B

The Rams had a respectable 2024 season before their season came to an end in the Divisional Round against the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Matthew Stafford threw 20 touchdowns against eight interceptions, Kyren Willaims rushed for over 1,000 yards, and Puka Nacua, Cooper Kupp, and Demarcus Robinson played very well in the team’s passing attack despite Nacua and Kupp missing some time with injuries.
The Rams’ defense played well, with Jared Verse earning a Pro Bowl nod, and the secondary was competitive in the backfield. The Rams announced they plan to move on from Cooper Kupp in the 2025 season, and will need to find his replacement in the offseason, as well as DeMarcus Robinson, who is set to become a free agent. The Rams need to find a new wide receiver to pair up with Nakua for the 2025 regular season.
Miami Dolphins: C

The Dolphins had a disappointing 2024 NFL season, but the team showed some flashes of good moments. Tua Tagovailoa suffered a gruesome concussion in week two of the season, resulting in the Dolphins’ offense struggling at times. When Tagovailoa came back to the lineup, the offense started to click more. However, missing Tagovailoa for five weeks drastically affected the Dolphins’ chances of making the playoffs.
Tyreek Hill had another productive season but didn’t make the Pro Bowl due to Tyler Huntley’s rough play on the field. The Dolphins need to strengthen their offensive line and find a more reliable backup quarterback just in case Tagovailoa suffers an injury in 2025.
Minnesota Vikings: A-

The Vikings had an exciting and fun regular season until the very end and into the Wildcard Round of the playoffs, losing to the Los Angeles Rams 9-27. With J.J. McCarthy out for the entire 2024 season, Sam Darnold had a renaissance, throwing a career-high 35 touchdowns against 12 interceptions. Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison both played a key role in Darnold’s impressive season, and Aaron Jones commanded a good game on the ground.
The Vikings’ defense, coached by defensive coordinator Brian Flores, played aggressively and fiercely against their opponents and need to keep that momentum going in the 2025 regular season. Darnold is likely not coming back to the team in the 2025 season, opening the door for McCarthy’s debut. Only time will tell how McCarthy will do for the Vikings next season.
New England Patriots: D-

The Patriots’ 2024 season was miserable to watch in the post-Bill Belichick era. Although rookie quarterback Drake Maye shined and gave the team hope for the future, the Patriots’ offense lacked explosiveness without star talent in key positions. The defense had some decent moments but couldn’t stop opposing offenses from dropping points against them.
Head coach Jerrod Mayo was fired immediately after the team’s Week 18 23-16 win against the Buffalo Bills and was replaced by former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel for the 2025 season. Vrabel and the Patriots have a lot of work ahead of them in the offseason. We’ll wait and see what happens.
New Orleans Saints: D

The Saints started the 2024 season hot, with two dominating wins over the Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys, respectively, but everything went to hell in a hand-basket after their week three loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. Head coach Dennis Allen was relieved of his duties after the team’s 22-23 week nine loss against the Carolina Panthers and was replaced by Darren Rizzi.
The Saints had a quarterback carousel with Derek Carr, Jake Haener, and Spencer Rattler splitting reps, Alvin Kamara rushed for 950 yards, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling showed a lot of promise since joining the roster when Rashid Shaheed and Chris Olave went down with injuries. The Saints hired former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to be their next head coach. We’ll have to wait and see how he and the team does in the 2025 NFL season.
New York Giants: F

Where do we even begin? The Giants’ 2024 season was an abysmal mess. Daniel Jones struggled behind a horrible offensive line, was released, and signed with the Minnesota Vikings as a backup to Sam Darnold. Letting go of Saquon Barkley will haunt John Mara and Joe Schoen for the rest of their days, as Devin Singletary wasn’t able to get much going on the ground. However, rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. showed promise, and rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers kept the team in games and was named to the Pro Bowl.
Dexter Lawrence held his own on defense but suffered an elbow injury. The Giants need a new quarterback immediately, along with a stronger offensive line, which has been a problem for years now. We’ll just wait and see what the team accomplishes in the 2025 offseason.
New York Jets: D-

There was a lot of hype and high expectations for Gang Green to go on a playoff run with Aaron Rodgers returning from his Achilles injury. Instead, the Jets endured a disastrous 2024 season, which saw Rodgers play one of his worst seasons as a professional. Bringing in Davante Adams helped offensively, but firing head coach Robert Saleh in the middle of the 2024 NFL season drastically impacted the team’s outcome, as interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich did everything he could to right the ship.
The Jets’ defense played fairly, with Quinen Williams getting named to the Pro Bowl, but the offense needs to step up in the 2025 season under new head coach Aaron Glenn’s leadership.
Philadelphia Eagles: A

After the Eagles began the regular season with a 2-2 record, fans were questioning Sirianni’s leadership. After the team’s week five bye week, the Eagles dominated their opponents in the regular season, went on an epic playoff run, and won the Super Bowl in dominating fashion against the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22. Jalen Hurts played very well with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, while Saquon Barkley had an immaculate 2024 season, which will forever haunt New York Giants fans.
The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, was formidable and aggressive against any opposing offense they squared off against, which was a major factor in why they won Super Bowl 59. We’ll have to wait and see what the Eagles have in store for us in the 2025 season.
Pittsburgh Steelers: B-

The Steelers’ 2024 season had a good start, with Justin Fields playing somewhat well. However, Russell Wilson replaced Fields and helped the team secure a 10-3 record with serious wins and a playoff berth, but the Steelers ended the regular season with four losses against the Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Cincinnati Bengals respectively.
Then the Steelers lost their Wildcard playoff matchup 14-28 against the Baltimore Ravens. Despite the tough end to the 2024 season, the Steelers defense played their hearts out and had five defensive players make the Pro Bowl. The Steelers’ passing attack lacked an explosive wide receiver outside of George Pickens and needs to find a new wideout to pair with Pickens in the 2025 offseason.
San Francisco 49ers: D

The 2024 49ers had great expectations of making a serious playoff run and a possible return to the Super Bowl, but injuries impacted the team throughout the entire season. Christian McCaffrey was out for most of the season with injuries, while the running backs struggled for most of the season. Brandon Aiyuk suffered an ACL and MCL tear, and Nick Bosa suffered an oblique injury and missed some time. Brock Purdy had an okay season, and Kyle Juszczyk, George Kittle, Bosa, and Fred Warner earned Pro Bowl nods.
The 49ers need to keep their roster healthy for a rebound 2025 season and find a new wide receiver, with Deebo Samuel likely out the door. We’ll wait and see what moves the team makes in the offseason.
Seattle Seahawks: B-

Even though the Seahawks barely missed the NFL playoffs, the team played well and finished the 2024 season with a 10-7 record. Geno Smith had a decent season, Zach Charobonnet had a decent year on the ground, as his teammate Kenneth Walker III’s season came to an end due to an ankle injury, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba shined for the Seahawks, as he earned a Pro Bowl nod.
The Seahawks’ defense put up a fight for most of the season and remains a good unit under head coach Mike Macdonald and defensive coordinator Aden Durde’s leadership. However, the Seahawks have to revamp the offense under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and find a way to return to the playoffs for the first time since the 2022 season.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: B-

The Bucs had a somewhat decent season, earning their fifth straight NFC South crown and playoff appearance, but lost 20-23 against the Washington Commanders in the Wildcard Round. Baker Mayfield had a good season by earning a Pro Bowl nod, but he threw 16 interceptions. Mike Evans tied Jerry Rice with 11-straight seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards, and rookie Bucky Irving rushed for over 1,000 yards on the ground.
The team’s defense was in the middle of the pack but needs to improve in the 2025 NFL season, with an edge defender and cornerback as Bryce Hall, Troy Hill, and Tavierre Thomas are set to become free agents. The Bucs need to make the right moves if they want to avoid an early playoff exit in the 2025-26.
Tennessee Titans: D-

The 2024 Titans season was a disaster from start to finish. Will Levis struggled all season long and was, unfortunately, becoming more famous for his viral reactions to turnovers. Mason Rudolph played slightly better but struggled at times, and the offensive line was a disaster. The Titans also couldn’t close games out and should’ve won against the Chicago Bears in week one, but let the game slip away.
A couple of bright spots on the Titans’ offense were wide receivers Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Calvin Ridley and running back Tony Pollard, having his third straight 1,000 rushing yard season. Head coach Brian Callahan will be back, and the team has the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The ball is in their field on who they’ll use that pick on or if they decide to trade the first overall pick somehow in the offseason.
Washington Commanders: B+

The Commanders had a very surprising yet impressive season despite not winning the NFC East. Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels is the leader of the team’s offense, while veterans Terry McLaurin, Zach Ertz, Brian Robinson Jr., and Austin Ekeler helped their new quarterback out in a big way.
The Commanders’ defense drastically improved, thanks to veteran leadership from Bobby Wagner, Marshon Lattimore, and Frankie Luvu, as well as great coaching from head coach Dan Quinn and defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. The Commanders need to surround Daniels with more wide receiver talent if they want to compete for the NFC East crown against the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. We’ll just have to wait and see.
