There is no doubt that after Conor McGregor announced his political career, many in the martial arts world have lost hope of seeing him fight in the UFC again. However, amid all the uncertainty, Chael Sonnen has suggested a way for Dana White and the UFC to bring him back. Sonnen believes that adjusting certain conditions could convince McGregor to return, even though the chances seem slim. His idea offers a glimmer of hope for fans still eager to see McGregor compete.

With McGregor announcing his run for the Irish presidency, Chael Sonnen pointed out that a lack of political experience wouldn’t be a major issue, as many politicians start the same way. However, he questioned whether McGregor still has the drive to compete in a five-round UFC main event.

Sonnen suggested that if the UFC wants McGregor back, they should offer him a three-round fight instead. He argued that this adjustment would significantly boost the chances of McGregor signing a contract while balancing both politics and fighting.

In his words, “And when the UFC is scratching their head, they can’t figure out what they’re doing wrong. Why they can’t get Conor to sign, they could change that one thing. They could make it three, five-minute rounds. And your likelihood, just by the numbers of getting Conor to put his name on paper – will go 70%. Conor; two jobs, President and cage fighter.”

UFC star Hooper shared his thoughts on McGregor’s announcement by suggesting that his fighting days were over. He believed the former double champion would never return to the octagon, as he was now focused on politics. Hooper’s reaction aligned with the growing sentiment that McGregor’s UFC career had likely come to an end.

When it comes to McGregor’s return, many, including Daniel Cormier and other fighters, doubt he’ll ever fight again—especially with his growing focus on politics. Whether Dana White takes Chael Sonnen’s advice to make that happen remains to be seen, making the situation even more intriguing.
