We are just 48 hours from the start of the 2024 NFL Draft, and teams like the New York Giants are making their final decisions.

They may draft a quarterback in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and it looks like it may not be who everyone thinks it will be.

Several reports have the team not taking Shedeur Sanders.

According to NFL analyst Rich Eisen, the Giants may have their eyes on Dart early in Round 2.

Peter Schrager added that there’s some “buzz” in New York about Jaxson Dart being the “preferred quarterback to Shedeur Sanders” for the Giants.

SNY’s Connor Hughes reported Monday as well that the New York Giants may consider trading back up into the first round of the draft on Thursday night to draft Mississippi quarterback Jaxson Dart. Hughes wrote that Giants head coach Brian Daboll “is high on” the Rebels product.

“Among qualities Daboll values in QBs is toughness,” Hughes wrote on the social media website X. “Dart has that.”

The SNY reporter added that momentum for Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders to end up with the Giants “has cooled dramatically.”

Dart finished the 2024 season with 4,279 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

The 2025 NFL Draft begins Thursday, April 24, with its first round.

The Giants have been in quarterback hell for a long time. Since Eli Manning retired, they have been unable to find a replacement.

The New York Giants, with the 3rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, are considering drafting a quarterback. While they signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, the team hasn’t ruled out selecting a QB in the draft.

And for a Giants team trying to rebuild trust from fans and get back to winning football, the team needs to find a signal caller.
