Sean Taylor’s Younger Brother Is Reportedly Signing Contract With NFL Team
Sean Taylor’s younger brother is signing a deal with an NFL team following this year’s draft.
Taylor was killed almost 18 years ago, but his younger sibling could bring the family name back to prominence in the league, as he’s been handed an opportunity by his brother’s old team.
According to Nicki Jhabvala of CWallSports, safety Gabe Taylor will join the Washington Commanders’ rookie minincamp this offseason. The former Rice star is said to have received offers from several teams.
“After receiving multiple offers, Gabe Taylor ( @iamGabeTaylor ), the former Rice safety and the younger brother of late Washington safety Sean Taylor, will attend the Commanders’ rookie minicamp, per sources,” Jhabvala tweeted.

Sean Taylor, a former All-Pro, won a national championship with Miami before the Commanders, then the Redskins, picked him at No. 5 overall in the 2004 NFL Draft. His impact was immediate, and he would make his first Pro Bowl two years later.
The former safety was the victim of a home invasion that resulted in his life and promising football career being cut short in 2007.
He left behind a daughter, Jackie Taylor, who’s now 18 years old and a phenomenal athlete herself, having kicked off a volleyball career.
