The UFC has always been known for allowing its fighters to speak freely, and Dana White rarely holds them back. The only time he did was when Bryce Mitchell went wild with a Hitler comment, no matter how wild or controversial their words may be. That tradition continued on Dana White’s Contender Series, where former NFL player turned MMA fighter Josh Hokit went viral for a post-fight speech that shocked and entertained fans.

Hokit had just delivered a brutal TKO victory over Guilherme Uriel in the second round, and later, he grabbed the microphone and did something nobody expected. Instead of the usual thank-yous and call-outs, he said he wanted to replace the heavyweight division with an “Incredible Hulk division,” where he would fight criminals like traffickers and abusers.

He said, “Me and my partner Dana White and I have decided to get rid of this unentertaining heavyweight division and instead we’re going to invent the Incredible Hulk division..Line them all up. One by one, I’ll give them a good, old American beatdown inside the Octagon to show the world there are consequences for these types of behaviors in America.

Social media immediately exploded with clips of the speech, with people trying to figure out if they’d just witnessed the birth of MMA’s next big personality or simply a fighter riding high on post-fight emotions.

Hokit, 27, played football with the 49ers and Cardinals before moving to MMA in 2023. A former standout wrestler, he’s unbeaten with five stoppage wins, including three straight in the first round. His opponent, Guilherme Uriel, 28, entered with a 6-1 record and back-to-back quick finishes in LFA.

Hokit isn’t the first ex-NFL player on the Contender Series. Greg Hardy debuted there in 2018, beating Austen Lane in under a minute before a 10-fight UFC run. Lane still competes in the UFC today, but he hasn’t had a good run, just like WWE star CM Punk’s career, as he has lost four of his last five fights.
