Cory Sandhagen Shares His Future Plans After Merab Dvalishvili Title Fight
320, he defends his title for the third time, this time against Cory Sandhagen. ‘Sandman’ is coming off a win over legend Deiveson Figueiredo, but beating ‘The Machine’ will be no easy task. Meanwhile, Sandhagen has already made future plans; if he becomes champion, he wants to face two fighters who previously handed him losses.
He plans to rematch with Umar Nurmagomedov and Petr Yan if he wins the title against Merab Dvalishvili. Both of those fighters have beaten him before, and Sandhagen is motivated to get revenge on both of them. This time, he wants to fight them in the United States instead of the Middle East, to have his opponents travel to fight in his home country.
“I don’t want to fight Umar and Petr Yan in the Middle East again. I want to fight them here stateside, where they can deal with travel and all that stuff, so I’m excited to get those two rematches done, too,” he said, talking to the New York Post.

Sandhagen has made his plans clear ahead of UFC 320. But before he gets to that fight, he must first get through ‘The Machine’, and that won’t be easy.
Sean O’Malley Feels Merab Dvalishvili’s Wrestling Will Overpower Cory Sandhagen
O’Malley is confident that Dvalishvili employs the same grinding game against Sandhagen that he gave him. He believes Dvalishvili will rely on wrestling, takedowns, and pressure to wear out Sandhagen. However, as O’Malley says, Sandhagen has also got a big motivation and hunger, and is able to create a path to victory. On the other hand, Dvalishvili said he would stand and trade punches, while Sandhagen is sceptical.
The challenger shot that down, saying it would be a huge mistake by the champion. Sandhagen believes in his striking and has advised Dvalishvili that if he gives up his wrestling to exchange strikes, that could be the worst choice of his career.
